Performance Summer School
A 5-day intensive summer program for aspiring musicians. Form bands, receive daily instrumental instruction, attend masterclasses, and perform live.
Course Overview
Whether you’re a born performer or music is something you’ve always wanted to try, come and join us for five days of unforgettable live performance experience this summer. You’ll dive deep into the world of music as you learn, create, play and, most importantly, have fun with likeminded musicians and music lovers.
Across the week, you’ll be led by our expert industry-active ICMP tutors, taking inspiration from your fellow students and bandmates. Each day, you’ll further develop your musical ability and proficiency on your instrument across a range of challenging lessons. You’ll grow your knowledge of theory and technique while playing, creating and performing music on your chosen instrument.
We welcome students from age 16+, and take pride in the unique and supportive environment this diversity fosters. This course is suitable for all skill levels, though we do ask that participants are not complete beginners. For example, instrumentalists should have some experience with a guitar or have spent time behind a drum kit.
LEARNING TOPICS
During the Summer School, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Jam with other musicians
- Develop your skills and technique on your chosen instrument
- Grow your network of like-minded musicians
- Perform at a London music venue with your band
Course Features
Daily instrumental classes Learn, create and play with bandmates under the guidance of your tutor. Get hands on with your instrument every day, as you further develop your musicianship and stage readiness.
Guest workshops and masterclasses Gain insider knowledge and tips from special industry guests and learn about their professional careers as musicians, writers and performers.
Band practice From day one, begin connecting with your bandmates as you collaborate and learn new songs, form a musical bond and perform together.
End-of-week performance Give it your absolute all as you hit the stage with your bandmates at a professional London music venue and blow the audience away.
